Photo Manipulation Example by j.t.a.c.
The two photos below are the after (top photo) and the before (bottom photo) of a new model home interior photograph. The original photograph was not at all horrible, but was improved with a few fairly standard adjustments I normally make to all photos. Brightness and contrast are adjusted. Color saturation and temperature are adjusted. And, the original photo had a slightly off angle on horizontal and vertical edges which were straightened.
All these steps are pretty simple, easy and fast. The results are not night and day, but the photo does look better with such attention to details applied.
